A good instructor is someone who understands different breeds and their origin and is a bridge between the dog and his human counterpart. An instructor should be able to assess the dog, physiologically & ethologically and treat the dog accordingly. Force is not an option at all! An instructor should be able to communicate well enough for the handler to understand his/her dog. They must be able to understand the handler and family they are dealing with, because that is the key to sorting out behavioral and obedience problems. Most of all, and instructor must possess a good sense of humor otherwise they are going to stress, thereby compounding the problems the dog and handler are having. |
